Artistic Statement

I incorporate principles of positive psychology to support self-actualization and aim to guide life-long learners toward social transformation and a comprehensive decolonizing liberation. I am particularly passionate about serving young people, seniors, and historically marginalized communities—especially those targeted by social violence, including ethnic and gender and race-based trauma, homophobia, xenophobia, classism, ageism, religious persecution and patriarchy. My goal is to help individuals heal from these wounds and reconnect to or build self-worth, a sense of agency and self-possession.

Through my teaching, I want to empower my students to develop a decolonized interiority—a spacious inner landscape where safety, ease, a growth mindset, and authentic self-empowerment and profound self-awareness is the norm. By nurturing these qualities a grounded sense of self-confidence and foundational self-esteem can be intentionally be cultivated in body and mind, inspiring true transformation, allowing students to reclaim their inherent and fundamental right to human dignity. Navigating their healing processes toward a state of equilibrium where loving kindness for all includes compassion for self, and, consequently, contributes to the collective liberation of all.
